Assemble geo-analytical questions through a Blockly-based natural language interface

Abstract. Natural language Interfaces (NLIs) have the ability to make Geographic Information Systems more accessible for interdisciplinary researchers or any inexperienced users. However, majority of research on NLIs GIS explored visualization spatial data retrieval. Research geo-analytical questions is still lacking. Google Blockly, an open-source JavaScript library, frequently used developing visual programming editors young students learning languages. Students set up program functions by selecting and assembling blocks Blockly system automatically translates block stacks into different Similarly, we present a Blockly-based interface that generates question depending user has assembled. It can be seen not only naturally represents syntactic structures in but also well assists users familiarizing generating clear complete questions.
